After teeth whitening, using a desensitising gel can help reduce sensitivity and encourage remineralisation, keeping your smile radiant and healthy. Potassium nitrate, the active ingredient of the MYMOFO Desensitizing gel, works by obstructing nerve signals in your teeth to lessen sensitivity and discomfort. Can I order MYMOFOSMILE Clear Aligners?

When would I buy an orthodontic retainer?
The most common reason for using retainers is to maintain the position of your teeth post-orthodontic work. The thin protective layer will keep your teeth in place and prevent reversal. The MYMOFO Retainer is the same as the one you would get from your dentist and can be a much more affordable solution. Once we have your accurate impressions on record, we can send out new ones whenever it is time for you to replace them.
Can I use a retainer as a night guard?
Retainers are designed to be worn post-dental treatment to align the teeth after a procedure. In contrast, night guards are used to prevent future damage to your teeth. A retainer will provide a thin layer of protection from grinding, but they are not designed to withstand these forces and will wear down quickly. If you wear a retainer but still need protection from grinding or clenching in your sleep, you can use a Night Guard to keep your teeth secure and give you a great rest!
How often do I need to replace a retainer?
Most will have their retainers last for up to 12 months or more but depending on care, storage and level of grinding, this can vary between people. So just let us know when you are ready for a new set of retainers, and we can make one straight away from our digital record of your impressions!
Will a retainer straighten my teeth?
Retainers are designed to keep your teeth in their new position after the braces are removed. They will not straighten your teeth.
What is a retainer made from?
The MYMOFO Retainer is made from a BPA-free acrylic to a standard thickness that provides comfort and protection.

Why would I use a night guard?
Night Guards are custom-made protective layers to prevent your teeth from further damage due to moderate to severe teeth grinding or clenching while sleeping. People suffering from Bruxism can experience tooth pain and deterioration, sore jaw muscles, tension headaches and poor sleep quality. A Night Guard gives your teeth an artificial bite surface that helps to lessen the symptoms and can lead to much better overall health outcomes.
What's the difference between a night guard I get from a dentist and one from MYMOFOSMILE?
Our Night Guards are made by the same professional technicians that supply dentists using industry-leading materials and processes. So with no need to schedule dentist visits, you can take your impressions in the comfort of your home.
Whats the difference between store-bought mouthguards and MYMOFOSMILE mouthguards?
Over-the-counter mouthguards are made from a soft thermoplastic material that can be heated in boiling water. Unfortunately, it’s the one-size-fits-all-night guard and will not provide you with that secure fit and adjustments you might need. In addition, these products are usually bulky and uncomfortable, leading to worse sleep quality. Our night guard is custom-made, especially for you. It fits precisely to your teeth because we make it with your exact teeth impressions.
Do you offer mouth splints for lower teeth?
The upper night guard is most people’s default and primary choice (more than 90%). However, if you prefer a lower night guard, we give you the option of selecting the impression kit for lower teeth during the checkout process. A lower night guard is generally the choice if you have an underbite.
What is the material you use for making MYMOFOSMILE mouthguards?
We use high-quality latex-free, non-allergenic, BPA-free material for making mouthguards. It’s an innovative, firm, thermodynamic acrylic that allows easy adjustment in your mouth, providing extra comfort. Warm it before placing it in your mouth at night for the smoothest and pain-free insertion. Pressure-formed splints you see from competitors do not last as long, are not as adaptable in the intra-oral space, tend to pick up smells and stains more quickly, and ultimately need replacement sooner.
Can I wear my MYMOFOSMILE mouth splint during the day?
Since teeth grinding happens mostly while we sleep, mouth splints are designed to wear at night to prevent your teeth from further damage. In addition, since they only extend halfway up your teeth for maximum comfort, they will be visible. Some dental retainers offer relief for daytime clenching. If you want more information on daytime solutions, please get in touch with our support team at support@mymofosmile.com.
Why should I choose a MYMOFOSMILE heavy grinder guard?
The MYMOFO Heavy Grinder Guard is a professional quality occlusal splint with the highest level of protection and comfort. We make this guard in the most common style of Night Guard recommended by dentists to lessen the symptoms and effects of people suffering from bruxism. Our Guard will ensure you have an even bite for the most comfort when sleeping. The innovative thermodynamic material used to design the appliance will soften under hot water to ensure a perfect fit each night.
Why should I choose a MYMOFOSMILE light grinder guard?
The MYMOFO Light Grinder Guard is a popular dental splint for those who prefer as much discretion as possible. It is the perfect match between durability and a slimline profile. In addition, this guard will soften under hot water for a perfect fit using the same thermodynamic material as our Heavy Grinder variant. The Light Version of the Night Guard will not model your bite and, therefore, will maintain a minimum thickness. Choose this if you are looking for something less intrusive.
Why should I choose a MYMOFOSMILE hybrid guard?
The MYMOFO Hybrid Guards are suitable for light to moderate night-time grinding. It has a hard outer layer that protects from grinding forces, while its soft inner layer is more comfortable on your teeth. It cannot soften under hot water like our Heavy Grinder and Light Grinder variants and will not last as long, but it is an excellent solution for a fast, affordable Night Guard.

Is it normal if my guard feels uncomfortable at first? How long do I have to test it?
A new Dental Laboratory Product can take a while to get used to wearing. We give you 30 days to thoroughly test your new appliance. An uncomfortable feeling wearing your Night Guard is not uncommon, and any tight feeling will ease with time as your mouth gets used to it.
My night guard only covers halfway up my teeth. Is this normal?
Yes! A Night Guard is designed to give protection for your occlusion or bite surface. It will extend only as high as needed to stay securely in place with maximum comfort.

I have a removable plate or denture; do I remove it before taking my impressions?
This depends on the nature of the existing device but generally speaking, you will remove a denture and wear a night guard in its place while sleeping. I am getting dental work done soon. Should I wait before placing my order?
In most cases, it is best or even necessary to wait until your dental work is completed before taking impressions. A custom-made product is unique to the shape of your teeth at the time of your recording. Some of our products require both upper and lower recordings. If you are unsure if you are ready to begin, you can always talk to our friendly staff at support@mymofosmile.com, and we will be happy to help.
Can I include products for more than one person in my order?
While we can make products for multiple people under one order, we do recommend that you place your orders individually. When placing an order for more than one person, please email us at support@mymofosmile.com to inform us how many kits and sizes. Our impression-taking and manufacturing process will contact you individually by email with updates on your product, and delays due to incorrect impressions can affect the entire order.
Can I use an existing mould of my teeth for placing an order?
Yes, it is possible. However, we generally don’t use existing moulds for making your mouth guard. Instead, we recommend you go through our teeth impression process to guarantee a precise fit. If you supply your existing models, you will not be eligible for our perfect fit guarantee or a refund, as the splint is fabricated to the model provided.
Can I claim products under my health insurance?
Unfortunately, you cannot claim your health insurance with our Night Guards; you would need to see a dentist to claim under dental benefits. Depending on your level of coverage, you may find that even with insurance, a product from your dentist can still cost you more than our range of laboratory direct services, all from the comfort of your own home!
I ordered an upper guard; do I still need to take lower impressions?
We recommend taking upper and lower impressions for all products. Instructions specific to your order will be sent via email when you receive your kit.
